Why Do I Sleep So Much?! :O

I just now woke up after dozing off in the David and Ilene Flaum Grand Hall(Big Name! I’m sure i’ll forget it after moving out of the hall. So, typing it directly into the Blog!) which is in the Whitman’s Building at our University. I wonder why i feel so sleepy?! As we all know, the Answer Lies Within. So, lemme look for an answer Inside Me!

Thinking about my sleeping habit… I’m a Heavy Sleeper. Can you imagine, I have spent nearly 10years of my life… sleeping!!! I have never cared about noise, lighting and stuffs like that. If i feel sleepy, i just go to sleep! My mom is exactly the opposite of me. She cant sleep even if there is a tiny bit of light inside the room and there should be complete silence. But me, i would sleep through tornadoes, earth quakes, and even a fire alarm! Veedae pathikitu erinchalum na nimmathiya thoonkitu irupen!!! My parents struggle to wake me up. There has been instances when i have locked the house from inside and slept, and they had to sleep in our neighbor’s house.

Alarm’s have been of no use. I’ve tried using more than 3-4 alarm’s at the same time-for Maximum Effect. But, usually it has Zero Effect. Enna, i wake up and turn off all the alarms and sleep again. Then, I used to keep alarm in our mp3 player-for maximum volume! It used to be of use sometimes. It will play a CD or FM Station as Alarm Tone. But still, i would wake up and go to switch the mp3 system off and sleep in the sofa. Once, the song “Pothikitu Paduthukalaam… Kathadikuthu Kaathadikuthu Kaasimetu…” (roughly translated as… get into your blanket and sleep) was the alarm for me. Timing Song! lolz. And then finally i’ll wake up exactly on time and i had to run to my college bus stop. Read this post for more – Chasing the College Bus. And during the exam days, as soon as i take my book in my hand, i start feeling sleepy and go to bed earlier than usual. I’ve even slept once during the exam… No… Not the Mid Term or Model Exams(We used to sleep during those exams usually. Thats Normal! We either sleep or make funny noises during the exam!) This was during our Second Year Semester Exam. Subject-Kinematics, which was one of the easiest but still i kept an arrear in it! Even those guys who usually have arrears in all subjects cleared this subject! :(

So, then how do i wake up?! I wake up sometimes really early. Thats when i am really determined, or have some work to do. I jus sleep thinking that i have to wake up at such and such time and believe me, i’ve woken up exactly at that time. But, that doesnt happen often! :)

The reasons for me sleeping so much… According to my mom, i’m still a young boy, i don’t have any responsibilities and so i sleep without worrying about anything in this world. When i become responsible and have things to do, it’ll change. According to my Doctor, my haemoglobin content in my blood is low. To recharge and rejuvnate my Body, i sleep so much. I am supposed to eat a lot of iron(thats iron rich food, like beetroot.) Both of them might be Right! But, according to me, i am just plain lazy. ;)

Chasing the College Bus

Many times i’ve been asked this question, “What’s the Most Embarrassing Moment in your Life?!”

You want to know?! Read on…

I used to go to college by my College Bus from the Second Year to the Final Year. I stayed in the College Hostel in the First year just to experience Hostel Life!!

Myself, Srinivas, Vinoth, Surendar and a few other Guys and Gals used to board our College Bus at Thirumanglam. Me and Srinivas used to walk together to the Bus Stop, sometimes joined by Vinoth on the way. Others join us at the Bus Stop. The Bus Comes to the Stop at 7.40am; Well it is supposed to come at that time, sometimes it comes early or sometimes late. Every student who goes to college will know, the bus comes early when we go a little late and the vice versa! That always happens. SMSes starts flying right from 7.15am; Updating my friends on where i am what i am doing; I’m eating. Started from Home. I’m almost there. Itho vathuten;

Everyday, i get ready at the last minute… Not that i wake up late. We used to go to the Gym in the mornings during my second and third year. So, morning schedule will be kind of packed! After finishing the morning chores(that wud be around 7.20am), i wud hurry up and go to Srini’s Place. Shout Out his Name from the Road once and he’ll look down from his balcony and say “Wait, i’m just now eating! Taking Bath! etc!” Then i’ll wait and we walk together towards t’manglam. Not always walking, fast walking, slow runing, jogging, fast runing! Depends on the Time Remaining! One eye at the watch one eye on the road.

Sometimes we’ll find Vinoth on the way. He’ll also join and we all talk and walk together. There were many funny incidents related to commuting to college. We’d reach the Bus Stop all sweating and grasping for breath. We always go exactly when the Bus reaches the Stop or when the Bus starts leaving the Stop. Many a times, we have missed the Bus. Then, we’ve to go catch a Govt Bus! (Gosh. So, irritating.) Or a Share Auto. Going by Share Auto that too in Chennai’s Roads is very Difficult. Especially Me and Srinivas, being Tall, had to undergo those difficulties together. Like for example, when we go on a Share Auto, i’ll here a Loud *Thud* and when i turn around to see what happened, that wud be Srini hitting the roof of the Auto! And as I look at him and laugh, and again another *Thud*, that wud be me hitting the Roof!!!

Well coming to that Embarrassing Moment… I went to the Bus Stop alone one day, i.e, srini and vinoth didnt come that day. But Surendar and the Other Guys of my College were standing at the Bus Stop. Well, the place is usually crowded in the morning because almost all colleges in the city pick up their students from Thirumanglam. As always, i was late. Since the place was crowded, i didnt notice Surendar standing at the Bus Stop. I noticed a bus standing at my stop when i was nearing my stop. It looked exactly like one of my college Bus. So, i started running after this Bus. The Bus Left the Place. Seeing me running, Surendar started running after me thinking that that was our college bus. After a long chase, I managed to chase the bus and board it on the run. When i entered the Bus, I was Shocked!

No Face was familiar! Everyone stared at me! And i realized, that that was a Different College Bus!!!!!! I then went to the Bus Driver and explained him the things and requested him to stop the bus! And the bus driver, stopped after giving me a irritated look and murmur! Thank Goodness the Bus didnt go much distance from my stop. Surendar was waiting for me at halfway and then we walked back to our stop!
