Stretch long and far, people say, in hopes of getting you to transcend your normal friending process.
And so, you dig deep, you stretch long and you befriend others unlike yourself and it’s refreshing—wonderful even. But then you find that having all the friends you can stand isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. You learn that some of these people aren’t even friends; they’re coat tail riders, saboteurs, spectators and even suffocaters.
In the end, you realize it’s quality, not quantity, that we should consider when choosing who we befriend. I learned that real friends are priceless. They uplift, accept and correct when necessary. They laugh or scoff at our stupid jokes and listen as we rant about the sweet nothings of life. But above all they love us and they show it.
If you’re hanging onto a friend who’s really not, know this: it’s hard to soar to greater heights with dead weight strapped to your leg.

As much as we may wish it weren’t so, a plain fact of human relationships is this: People come and people go!
Someone that we have loved with all of our hearts one day can, quite literally, vanish from our lives the next. Not necessarily from death. Not even from rancor. Sometimes simple circumstance can take a best friend(s), a lover or a family member right out of your hands, never to be seen again. That’s sad. But that’s life.
There are times that I lie in my bed and just think of all the people who have wandered away from me. I remember all of the people that I have wandered away from. And then I wonder, will there ever be a time when they might reconnect? Not just for a ‘blast from the past,’ but a real reconnection, a rejoining, a resumption of the friendship routine as if the split had never happened. Probably not!
When I left Chennai, I left so many good people behind. I left a true family of friends with the absolute belief that nothing would change, that we would continue to talk and visit and share a rare closeness of heart. Of course, that didn’t happen and even though they are there, and are in touch, the friendship is not the same, it has evolved! Distance, time and space created an inevitable chasm between intention and reality.
This is all part of Life. People come and people go, satisfying a need for love and companionship in your life, or teaching you something you need to know. Luckily, a few people will stick around for a lifetime. But most are just here for a season. Maybe two. And that’s OK, because even though the physicality is gone, the love you created remains. Always.

Unquenchable is man’s thirst for happiness. As I said in my earlier post, whatever we do (study, work, earn, learn, for that matter… anything) is geared towards making us or the others around us happy. There is a Golden Rule for happiness, that, happiness comes to him who gives happiness to others.
Nothing Gives More Happiness than a Random Act of Kindness, with No Expectation of Reward!
Do that today… Make someone Happy! and share your experience in the comments!

Yes. As everyone knows, the answer to the Question, will depend on how you see things! This Post is just about how i learnt it from my own recent experience.
I started working at the University a few weeks back. Till now i have registered and am working at 2 places. The Office of Disability Services and the Shaw Dining Hall. Both have been Good so far. Initially, I felt like my eyes are paining if i work in ODS(Office of Disability Services), because i have to work on the Computer. Not that i don’t like sitting in front of the Computer, i hate it when i am forced to do something. And then i joined Shaw Dining Hall and felt like my legs are paining, b’coz we had to stand and do the Work. All this just after working 1-2 Shifts! And If i go to attend class, i get “back pain” by sitting in class. If i try to study something, my Brain starts Screaming with Pain. Nogama nongu thingira maathiri ethachum job iruntha sollunga… Pitcha edukurathyum, Kambi ennurathaym thavira!!!
Many people want to work in the ODS because, we just have to sit at a place and do the conversion of files from one format to the other. And at the same time, many want to work at the Dining Halls and Food Courts because they get more pay and also they get to eat anything and everything they want
It’s all about how people perceive on events and objects. Perception is unique to every individual and is simply your interpretation of reality. For me, my perception of things go from one extreme to the other. At times i am Positive and at other times i feel Negative. Right now, i feel Positive about things and this post is a result of that. The power of perception is truly very astonishing! So, when you face difficult situations, remember… It’s all in your Mind! Change your thoughts and you change your World!

I used to be kinda’ low, depressed, sad… on seeing how poor people suffer! There was this old man who clears the over grown grass on our garden. He always comes after 12pm. My mom asked him why he’s coming only in the afternoon and is working in the scorching sun, whereas it would be easier for him in the early mornings. His reply, “Mathyanam vantha thaane saapadu tharuveenga madam” (Only if i come in the afternoon, i can have some lunch!) According to him, if he works early in the morning, he’ll get only the koolie(wages) for his work. Whereas, if he works in the afternoon, it would be lunch time and he can get the lunch for that day as well as the money. Makes, me think how hard people work to get the basic necessity of life, Food! Even today, while returning home, i saw an old man picking up rice which fell on the road. Apparently, the plastic cover in which he was carrying the rice tore open and fell down from his cycle. So, he was picking up the pieces of rice from that dirty road, clean it and then eat! Now I feel bad about wasting food!!!
But, after pondering over these kind of things all these years… And out of experience… I’ve come to accept the Truth! The Reality!
Everyone in this world cannot be Equal! It is against the nature of man. There is something unique in everyone. Right from his Date of Birth, Place of Living, Fingerprints, Appearance, Qualification, Attitude, Tastes, etc etc. A talented man cannot be asked to be satisfied with what a man totally devoid of talent is able to obtain from life. If all of us are equal, we would be like machines, robots!
No one can be equal to someone else. Even then, i pray to God that the divide between the Poorest and the Richest is not this huge as it is these days, in India.

I wanna know what is to be…
To see what life’s cut out for me…
I’m waiting for my fate…
I wanna know just what’s in store for me…
I wish I had a crystal ball…
To see my rise and see my fall…
I’ll just have to wait and see!!!

Have you ever seen a hillside that looks like a perfectly manicured lawn? The grass looks unreal, so green and lush? You wished your grass looked like that and even if only for a moment, you want to sit in peace on that beautiful hillside. However, as you get closer you see weeds, bare patches, and the ground is uneven. At a distance these things were undetectable but close up the grass isn’t as pretty.
Our lives can be like that hillside. Our life isn’t going the way we’d like it to and this could be in the professional, personal or romantic part of our lives. Something is broken, it isn’t going the way we would like, and we encounter someone that seems to have the very thing(s) we are missing and that is when the trouble begins: contemplating that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence!
Just for example, I thought that call center’s were cool and fun to work at. Well, they are, but not always. They too have negatives minuses and i cud see that only after coming to this side. I learnt that its not only talking to customers, i also have to take care of a lot more things like logging cases on my tools, etc etc.
When in school we would think College Life would be all cool and fun and we dont have to study anything. Well it was, but still school was different kind of fun. Always we would want to have something that we dont have. It’s human nature to get bored of something that we have and we start longing for something else that we dont have! The Idea is to be satisfied with what you have or start enjoying what you have and Life’ll be Great!
Stay where you are. Distant fields always look greener, but opportunity lies right where you are. Take advantage of every opportunity. Your chances of success in any undertaking can always be measured by your belief in yourself.

You must have always wondered, why there are some people who always end up on top. Even I used to wonder why? A friend told me that there are some that are just plain lucky. That’s just a humbug. No one can be plain lucky, luck happens when someone tries something and ends up successful in that. The people who win are people that go out and do things, win or lose. Yeah they might lose sometimes, but you don’t usually remember them for losing, you remember them for winning.
I think that’s the big difference. These people actually try to do new things. They are bold, and will take the initiative in all things. Life has taught me that you will get what you want only if you decide what you want and do all those things that will give that to you!
Don’t say that you are bored and nothing is happening in your life. Nothing is happening because you don’t make it happen. If I’ve learned anything its that life won’t just fall in your lap, you’ve gotta go and make it happen.
Now I’m working at DELL learning new things and talking to different people each day. I took the initiative, i attended the Interview and I got selected. It wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t finally get off my but and do something about it. I’d have been sitting at home after finishing college and waiting for DoJ like many others.
Guys, take a note. Get off your butts and go do it. Take the initiative, get into the middle of things, do something for once for yourself. You won’t be happy in life until you take control of your life and get out there and live it. It’s all just a state of mind.
You jus’ have to Do It! And Luck/Fortune whatever you call it, will follow! You know what…
Luck has a Peculiar Habit of Favoring those who don’t depend on It! Just go about doing things as you always do and everything will fall in place and you will achieve Success with or without Luck!
