You can’t always make everyone Happy. If a group of people adore you, another group will hate you. There’ll always be people who will not like you at all! There is much truth in his statement. In this post, I will describe my own experiences from which I’ve learned you can’t make everyone happy, and tell you why that’s alright.

Some times its that First Impression that people get about you. Why i am writing this now, is again my call centre experience. I’ve talked to Dell customers who are absolutely Happy with Dell and are pleased with the best quality support they receive everytime they call Dell and there are also customers who say that they have had very bad experience with Dell Products and support and that they would not buy Dell again. I, as a Tech Support Agent, especially have learned that you will always piss someone off. You can’t make everyone happy. It all depends on my mood, their mood, their previous experiences, etcetera. Itha thaan neram nu solranga!

So, what we understand from all this is that Nobody can make Everyone Happy.

You should therefore accept that you can’t make everyone Happy either - and know that it’s alright, because nobody expects you to. When you go out and face the world out there, there will undoubtedly be people who will disagree with you. You’ll upset people, make them angry and all that. Don’t worry about it or even think about it. Let go of the idea that you can make Everyone Happy, and focus on Making Urslf Happy. That is something you Can Control. It’s up to everybody else to decide whether or not they want to be Happy along with U.

About all you can do in life is Be Who You Are. Some people will love you for what you are. Most will love you for what you can do for them, and some won’t like you at all.

Now… Don’t get angry on me that i am always writing about calls! Since i am working at a Call Centre, right now my life revolves around calls and thats the reason majority of my posts are about calls…! Will try to write about some other topics as well…

Now this post is about Amusing US Customers…

The US Customers are so very Amusing to us and i think that they think likewise about us!

Its all about the kind of reaction that we get when we tell the customer that we’re calling from India. Many of the customers would be surprised that we were speaking to them from India.

They would tell me, ‘Its really amazing to that you could take control of your computer from that far and resolve the issue in minutes!’ And if i solve their issue, they would jump with joy and pour out praises on me! And my reaction ‘Ah! That was Nothing!’ Trying to be Modest!!

Some customers have the impression of the Old India with Elephants, Kohinoor Diamonds or Beggars, Poverty etc. One of the cx asked me, ‘I’ve heard that you have lots of Diamond Mines there!’ Me:‘I guess so’. And Some of the customers dont even know where India is! One of them asked me, ‘Is it near Brazil?!’

Our Ops Manager(Short for Operations Manager) told us that, these days the surprise element has gone down, because many of the customers would know that the call centres are in India, Philipines, etc. During the Days when he took calls(That would be 3-4years back), if the customer comes to know that he’s speaking from in India, they would literally jump with astonishment and surprise. You are talking to me from India?! He said some customers even disconnect the call immediately after hearing that he’s from India thinking that they’re on an International Call and that they’ll be charged! Or else, the customer would call everybody in the family near the phone, like for example their son/daughter, grandson/granddaughterand tell them, Hey Jim/Mary(any name!) I am talking to a Technical Support Person who is from INDIA!!! Can you believe that! He’s from India and he is able to access our computer so fast. And One by one each of the family member will have a word with him. Say Hi to that Uncle from India! lol

Kitne Passwords yaar?!!

During the days when i started using internet, it was all exciting to create accounts on various sites! I had actually created E-Mail accounts on various sites yahoo, AOL, msn, rediffmail, etcetera… But i lost track of almost all of them, except Yahoo and GMail…

I didn’t care much about passwords then… But these days… Lots of Login ID’s and Passwords at Office Dellserv, GTS, NT Login ID, IRoz Login, etc. Then there’s Net Banking Pwd for each bank, PayPal, Univ Application ID’s and pwd’s and a lot many more… Even for this Blog i have to remember pwds for admin entry, statcounter, meebo me, cluster maps, etc etc

Never thought i would have to remember these many Passwords! Poor little Brain of mine! Its already running out of space! Every time I Create a New ID with a New Password, the warning msg “Memory Low! Delete Some Data!!!” appears in front of me!

The Passwords are chasing me even in my dreams… Last week, i had a dream… Everything went Blank, and a window opened up… And i heard a sweet female voice(An Angel’s Voice, i presume! ) “Enter your Login ID and Password” I asked “Why?!” Again, the Voice, “To Enter your Dream World!” I entered all the Passwords that i had ever used, but nothing worked! Suddenly a warning Message came across the screen “Your Account has been Locked out. Contact the Administrator!”

Enna koduma sir ithu!!!

I wish i could name this post as Sleepless in Seattle or Sleepless in Singapore!

But since i am from Chennai and i am Sleepless here… I had to name the Post like this! Maybe i could have named it as Sleepless in Singara Chennai… Title nalla illa… So, rejected!

Well, i am not actually sleepless… Its just that i am awake when most of you are sleeping… Yes, thats because i’ve been working in the Night Shift for the past 2 months… My sleep pattern has been changed topsy-turvy! So much that i am not able to sleep during the nights even when i am in a holiday… See i am here posting an useless post at around 2.30am! Thats the worst part of working in a night shift… You never know when is the right time to sleep or eat! And if at all you get a day or two off, you would be sleeping all day! You sleep in the day because you got used to it and in the night because you have nothing better to do, with everyone around you Sleeping!

Have you ever seen a hillside that looks like a perfectly manicured lawn? The grass looks unreal, so green and lush? You wished your grass looked like that and even if only for a moment, you want to sit in peace on that beautiful hillside. However, as you get closer you see weeds, bare patches, and the ground is uneven. At a distance these things were undetectable but close up the grass isn’t as pretty.

Our lives can be like that hillside. Our life isn’t going the way we’d like it to and this could be in the professional, personal or romantic part of our lives. Something is broken, it isn’t going the way we would like, and we encounter someone that seems to have the very thing(s) we are missing and that is when the trouble begins: contemplating that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence!

Just for example, I thought that call center’s were cool and fun to work at. Well, they are, but not always. They too have negatives minuses and i cud see that only after coming to this side. I learnt that its not only talking to customers, i also have to take care of a lot more things like logging cases on my tools, etc etc.

When in school we would think College Life would be all cool and fun and we dont have to study anything. Well it was, but still school was different kind of fun. Always we would want to have something that we dont have. It’s human nature to get bored of something that we have and we start longing for something else that we dont have! The Idea is to be satisfied with what you have or start enjoying what you have and Life’ll be Great!

Stay where you are. Distant fields always look greener, but opportunity lies right where you are. Take advantage of every opportunity. Your chances of success in any undertaking can always be measured by your belief in yourself.

For everyone who works, one significant day of their life is the day of the first salary. I got mine on 31st of July 2008, when i was 21yrs and 49days old! I am not going to disclose how much it is (Company Guidelines ) but it was a great moment for me. The whole of the money, my own money, much awaited money. I was expecting to get my first salary from Infosys, but Sutherland beat them!

Our salary account was with ICICI Bank. All of us were eagerly awaiting our first salary. We were told that we’ll get the money only by 6pm on the 31st! We were working at that time and so we cudnt go to the ATM! But, we got the message thro’ the Mobile Banking service that the salary has been credited!

I’m too broke and finally i have money again. haha. soo hooray! money! $_$ yes. I Luv Money! (Well, Who doesnt?!)

But, i havent decided how to spend it yet! Any suggestions?!

Update: I invested my entire Salary in an Equity Fund!

My Love/Hate Relationship with taking calls… One day I Enjoy taking Calls and on another day i Hate it so much that i feel like quitting that day itself!

When the Customers are very nice and pleasant to talk to, I enjoy talking to them and helping them out with their issue.

And when the customers are rude and impolite i speak to them in a kind of similar way. just talk to them in a professional manner! Wud never go out of the way to help him out.

There are another set of customers who doesnt know anything, cant understand anything, cant co-operate, but want their problem to be resolved. Dumbest Customers! That is when i feel like Abusing the Cust with all the bad words i can think of. And that is what makes me hate Calls. But, if a very good cust comes online after that call, that feeling disappears after sometime! And i start to love taking calls and talking to customers!

So, everyday is a kind of Love-Hate Relationship with Calls!
